One of the most common household maintenance issues we see at AllPlumb are hot water systems that need to be serviced or replaced. Here are some common signs that your unit may need some attention:
- The water flowing from the tap appears rusty or brown in colour
- The water flowing from the tap has mud or sediment in it
- The unit is making cracking, popping or hissing noises
- The pilot light goes out regularly
- The hot water has a strange or metallic taste
- There is water leaking out of the unit
- You are experiencing fluctuations in water temperature
- The water pressure is inconsistent
- You are getting less hot water
- It’s over 5 years old and you can’t remember the last time it was serviced.
AllPlumb recommends that your hot water service is serviced every three years or when any of the above warning signs are noticed.
